OK, it is Frisco, but still…
An anti-war protester confronted former Bush administration aide Karl Rove while he spoke at a San Francisco mortgage bankers’ meeting.
A statement by the group Code Pink identified the woman as 58-year-old Janine Boneparth, who tried to handcuff Rove in what she called a citizen’s arrest for “treason.”
This reminds me of when Rove visited Duke University last December. I have never seen so many “liar” and “arrest him” banners in my life. The evening was punctuated by a heckler yelling “9-11 was an inside job.”
The Duke Chronicle ended up condemning the hecklers: “If the University wants to host more major and controversial speakers like Rove, then it must work harder to maintain the academic nature of events and ensure that the atmosphere is intellectually rather than emotionally charged.”
