An actual functional and worthwhile Charlotte city council confab would have this question front and center. In fact, given the performance of city departments in recent years it should be the only thing mulled over. Thumb through city departments and you’ll find disaster after disaster. Yet there is zero accountability. Has to be that city council — a wholly owned-subsidiary of the Uptown crowd — likes it that way. They don’t hold anyone accountable, no one holds them accountable. Perfect.

On the topic of firings, a Local Paper. It seems to keep firing the wrong folks. Otherwise how do you go off on Charlotte’s housing crash and not mention the Uptown condo bust and still-born transit oriented development schemes?

It is not like Debra Campbell and her wily gnomes in the planning department have to fear for their jobs. If anyone in a position of authority actually cared about Campbell’s reign of terror she’d be long gone by now.
