If I have paid attention to all my civics lessons of late, I know that human gender is a mutable state of mind. Fetal gender, however, seems to be physiological and not covered by protected-class laws applying to humans. That is why legislation has been proposed in the statehouse to protect the transgendered unborn who do not identify with their anatomy but think they do and will likely switch orientations at least a couple times. Am I starting to understand the role of government? (P.S., I know I’m not in Massachusetts, but statehouse is such a cool word.)
