In an earlier post, I referred to the Advanced Vehicle Research Center (AVRC) and the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) but got some details on the two groups confused. NCCAR is the name of a nonprofit group that originally worked with AVRC to create a testing center in Northampton County – this project received state money. The AVRC has not been connected with the Northampton County project in more than a year, but has received federal research contracts.
To recap: AVRC – in Wake County, gets no state money; NCCAR – in Northampton County, gets state money.
