[Developer Simon] Weber said he’s not asking for help now from government agencies, but he might need help with infrastructure improvements.
Tim Newman, CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, said Weber told him the need for public assistance would be “minimal if any.”
To my mind that means signaling and access improvements to the site, ones which would improve overall traffic flow on Statesville Ave. and might cost $2-3m., tops. In addition, color me doubtful this outfit can secure enough private funding for this venture in this market, at this time.
But I’d love to be wrong. For a change, if nothing else.
