The City of Winston-Salem wants to unload Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum and Bowman Gray Stadium before the next fiscal year, unburdening taxpayers of $30 million over the next 20 years. But the process seems to be going slow.

In fairness, the process involves getting public input, since —according to Assistant City Manager Martha Wheelock –no public hearing is required. But June 30 is quickly approaching and if the city gets hung up on relatively minor details — such as the names of the respective venues — it could get pretty tight.
