Talk about a waste of time. CMS spends almost $100,000 in direct costs and countless manhours the past four months “investigating” the Independence High football program and finds — nothing.
Better still, in the course of this investigation CMS doubtless became aware of allegations that the West Charlotte team that went to the state playoffs celebrated with a drinking and pot smoking party in a hotel room and that CMS investigators misrepresented themselves as CMPD officers in order to compel apartment managers to turn over lease agreements so investgators could “check” the addresses of Indy players. Either one of those activities dwarf telling a middle school kid that he is good football player, the supposed crime Patriot Coach Tom Knotts had committed.
Not to worry. Propaganda Pete’s platinum-plated spin machine will make it all better.
