Today’s News and Obserever went out of its way to herald yesterday as the area’s first code orange alert day. What they didn’t mention is that while July 6 was a code orange alert day the alert, sent out by the Division of Air Quality, is a forecast and in this case it was one that didn’t materialize. As it turns out yesterday did not exceed the standards for a code orange day. The Triangle will just have to wait for its first bad air day of the season.
