Collin Finnerty, one of the three Duke lacrosse players railroaded by former D.A. Mike Nifong and certain elements of the Durham Police Department, will be back in Durham on Saturday. A little over a year ago it was expected his return would be to face a jury, but we all know how that turned out.
Instead, he’s returning to face his former teammates in the NCAA lacrosse tournament first round, as his Loyola Greyhounds meet top-ranked Duke. I’ll be rooting for Duke on Saturday, but you can bet I’ll get sore hands clapping for Finnerty when he’s introduced in the starting lineups.
The game is at 2:30 at Duke’s Koskinen Stadium. It’s also will be shown live on ESPNU.
