I’m confused, as usual, about the claims being made about Charlotte’s air quality. The N.C. Division of Air Quality counted one (1) code red ozone day last year, the Observer today says there were 10 “unhealthy” ones which may or may not be the same thing.
But then we have a Banker of America analyst/biker quoted as telling us he can always tell a code red day by how much his “lungs burn.” During the past six years the most days Kurt Henry could’ve possibly been burning his way through is 19. Further assuming he actually near was near one of the eight monitors which might’ve registered a code red reading. Often only one or two do.
Put another way, during the past three years exactly eight (8) Charlotte-area monitors have hit red for ozone. The same monitors have gone green 3013 times during the high ozone season. Kurt Henry is one unlucky SOB.
