Following up on last week’s post, Comedy Central made “South Park” take out the image of Mohammed. To the writers’ credit, they replaced it with a black screen telling what the cartoon image of Mohammed was doing (merely hand something to the Family Guy) and explaining that Comedy Central would not allow them to show an image of Mohammed.
Seconds later, however, “South Park” depicted Jesus defecating on President Bush and a bunch of others. Point made. Everything else is fair game, but the idea of a mere cartoon depiction of Mohammed without the usual “South Park” vulgarity and ribaldry made Comedy Central bury its head in the sand.
