I’ve always loved presidential debates, no matter the candidates, no matter how tight the race. I like to hear and watch the candidates talk, particularly in formats that force them to get beyond their stock answers. I want to learn something I don’t already know. That’s why I’m looking forward to this year’s debates. I predict Mr. Biden does better than expected, and Mr. Trump comes with a strong punch/counterpunch. I also predict Mr. Biden will intentionally try to provoke an outburst from the president. A new poll gives us a snapshot of what American voters predict for the presidential debates:
