The story could be a little clearer, but if you read all the way through this account of Pittsburgh’s search for more money, you see the awful treadmill the city is on.
Arts groups paying city fees on performances, no doubt similar to the ones suggested for Charlotte venues, look to visiting pro athletes to pay wage taxes to fund arts stuff.
But pro athlete money is already skimmed in Pittsburgh to pay for the stadium bonds that the city floated. The city floated the bonds to catch the dog. It swallowed the dog to catch the cat.
It swallowed the cat, to catch the bird, it swallowed the bird to catch the spider, that wiggled and wiggled and tickled inside ‘burgh. It swallowed the spider to catch the fly. I don’t know why ‘burgh swallowed the fly.
I guess they’ll die.
