Indeed, North Carolinians are not aware of the massive changes coming to the public school curriculum this year.  (It was #1 on my list of ten big changes coming to NC education this year.)  Last year, the North Carolina State Board of Education adopted the Common Core State Standards in English and math.  Schools will begin to teach and assess both later this year.

It sounds to me like CMS, the second largest school district in the state, is not ready.  That’s bad.
