Swiss electronics giant ABB is moving its North American headquarters from Connecticut to North Carolina.

[Company spokesman Bill] Rose said the company did not receive any state or city incentives for the move.

Rose said Cary emerged as the front-runner because ABB has existing operations in the Triangle and because the region is close to key customers. Also, real estate is less expensive here ? commercial office property rates are close to 50 percent lower in Cary than they are in Norwalk.

Lower land prices and proximity to existing operations and customers made the difference? Not incentives? Does Gov. Perdue know about this?

And does Pres. Obama know that ABB didn’t even consider Canada and its free health care?
