I just saw this in the Washington Post
this morning.  At first I thought that the riot in Wilmington in
1898 is a legitimate part of North Carolina history that should be
included in state history courses.  Then when I read that victims
want compensation to the riots from the state, from over 100 years ago
I have to ask myself this question how many Victims of the 1898 riot
are here to get their compensation?  Some have even said that
Wilmington has not reached full potential as a city since 1898.
What year is this? (2006).  I guess to see if Wilmington has lagged behind and is still in the 1898 slump you’ll have to look into this and make your own judgment.
