Finally a group of doctors have filed suit against the North Carolina’s Certificate of Need (CON) program. The N&O notes here that their suit argues that the 27 member State Health Coordinating Council should come under state ethics law.
Remember the FBI probe of Illinois Governor Blagjeovich started when a hospital administrator who wanted to expand her hospital was told by CON authorities that she could get a permit only if she used politically connected contractors for the construction. See the details here.
