JLF’s Mitch Kokai has an interesting blog posting over in The Locker Room about a News & Observer editorial on the unwise concentration of power in too few people at the General Assembly. In this most recent case, the discussion is about House Speaker Joe Hackney. However, earlier in the session, we saw a crystal clear example of this during budget negotiations, as practiced by Senate Majority Leader Tony Rand. That led the News & Observer’s Dan Barkin to weigh in with this commentary on government transparency and the concentration of power.
