Lindalyn Kakadelis met with school choice advocates this week and provided an overview of the movement’s status at the national level. Guests included representatives from the Institute for Justice, the Milton and Rose Friedman Foundation, and North Carolinians for Home Education, as well as several state legislators. While in Raleigh, Kakadelis also attended the monthly meeting of the State Board of Education. Meantime, Don Carrington responded to two requests from WRAL-TV. On Thursday he sat for a 90-minute interview about the Global TransPark. WRAL plans to air a special on the state-funded boondoggle sometime in the next few weeks. Later in the day, Carrington provided reaction for a 6 p.m. news story on a House bill that would give state employees two days a year to be used when inclement weather prevents them from going to work. Carrington told the reporter the current policy of either using vacation days or making up the missed time is sufficient.
