Town officials say the email addys of citizens are private and the local MNI outlet cannot have them. And check this passive-aggressive snit via DavidsonNews.net:

Asked if the paper might press the towns that have not complied, Observer Editor Rick Thames said, “We’re not in the habit of asking for a public record and being turned down.” Nonetheless, he added, “I’m not terribly concerned about that.”

He said other local governments have sent their lists to the paper. “And we’re looking at those and working with them right now. We’re doing this for journalistic reasons,” he said.

Yeah, Rick except you never seem to press for the documents that would upset some Uptown applecart — like the Hamilton toxicology report, the redacted if need be “classified” Tisdale report, the Waka Flocka incident report naming the shooter — to name three right off the top of my head.

But by all means pursue the to the ends of the earth the email addresses of private citizens so you can spam them and beg them to work for free.
