Here’s another example of the left finally “getting” a conservative critique of their policies — after finding themselves in the usual position conservatives have been. (The most prominent example has been the left’s rediscovery of speech rights on campus after finding their anti-American tirades no longer tolerated — conservatives had long complained about the lack of free speech on campus but the left paid no mind since that lack didn’t affect them.)

Now the left at UNC-Chapel Hill is angry that student fees are being used to bring Ann Coulter to campus. Conservatives have complained for years about having to pay student fees to support leftist causes. Their complaint has been essentially no different from this UNC-CH columnist’s (edited to make it applicable to all): But the troubling aspect … is not [the] extremist stances or [the] offensive rants; it’s the pile of money Student Congress allocated [for it].

Now do you see? It stinks to be forced to pay for political speech that you find offensive.
