The Greensboro City Council unanimously approved a motion to amend the city’s Comprehensive Plan by changing the corner of Lawndale and Cornwallis (site of the controversial Walgreens) from mixed use commercial to moderate residential.

Council member Robbie Perkins noted that development was definitely going to occur on that corner and (almost) anything is better than the decaying rental homes sitting there now. He urged neighborhood residents and the city to work together on a development plan that will be beneficial to everyone.

I believe that can happen. I think it will take more than a few tries, though.
