The Greensboro City Council finally gets to see the infamous black book. But questions still remain, among them exactly how the original copy plays into the investigation of former intelligence
sgt. Tom Fox or Detective Scott Sanders. It’s also unclear exactly how the council was supposed to react to a book consisting of pictures of African-American men, “unaccompanied by any explanations or statements.”

Council member Zack Matheny said he had kind of a dirty feeling” while looking at the book, which is a strange response considering the fact that he didn’t know what he was looking at.

Just like the audio tapes the city released in February, this is yet more out-of-context information released to create an image of openness in our city government. And, just like those other pieces of information, this creates more questions rather than providing answers.
