Council of State update

We’ve mentioned the races for governor and lieutenant governor. Here are some other Council of State primary numbers:

Democrats:

• Auditor: Wood leads Aiken, 65-35
• Insurance commissioner: Goodwin leads Smith, 57-43
• Labor commissioner: Tight four-way race with all candidates topping 20 percent
• State superintendent: Atkinson leads Davis, 55-45
• Treasurer: Cowell leads Young, 49-36

Republicans:

• State superintendent: Morgan (50 percent) leads Johnson and Smith (roughly 25 percent each)
