But overall employment is still less than Mecklenburg saw in April and May of this year, when a jobs recovery seemed to be underway.
New state figures show the county with 413,945 jobs in August, up slightly from July’s 411,416. That increase was enough to nudge the county unemployment rate down to 10.5 percent from 10.8 percent.
