Interesting little squib here about an attempted armed robbery on Albemarle Road that ended up with a perp taking a round to the belly.
More of these kinds of incidents will be a sure sign that local residents: 1) Have no faith in CMPD’s ability to protect them from violent crime 2) Crime is more of a problem than anyone wants to admit.
Unless it turns out that those involved all knew each other — a possibility — then it’ll be an example of street crime met with deadly force by a citizen pushed to the brink.
Bonus Observation: The incident took place in the McDonald’s parking lot. That was my “go to” McDonald’s back in the day. I’m talking McRib and those weird orange shakes.
