I didn’t think Steph Curry had it in him at the Garden last night. He was shooting quick and shooting bad. He looked like just another mid-major gunner out of his league, forcing stuff and spraying the ball all around the building.

But then Curry goes and hits two daggers to close out the game and get the Wildcats the win over a rugged WVa bunch. The jaded Garden crowd falls in love with the skinny kid.

Mark my words, Curry and Davidson make another long run in the NCAAs and there will be bidding war in the NBA to land the guy. Not so much on the merits of his considerable on-court talent, but in hopes that some of Curry’s magic rubs off on a stagnant and unloved franchise.

Perhaps like the one in Curry’s hometown.
