An article in the local daily begs help for your fearful government. The number of Buncombe County-ites enrolling in WIC (Women Infants and Children) is down, and that means less spontaneously-generated and string-free federal money is going to be flowing into the local program. WIC, in case you didn’t know, makes children healthy by protecting them from parental responsibility. Experts are described as “fearful,” and they suspect the problem has something to do with insufficient awareness. I do, too. A lot of women who self-identify as men and vice versa and everything in-between probably are scared off by the term “Women” in the program’s title. Anyhoo, you can be making almost double the poverty rate and still qualify, so don’t let government fear. Its heart throbbing. Its knees quaking. Get on the phone and sign up. You think I’m making this up? Lo here!

P.S. A face is put on the program as a human shield, but nobody explained to me why one success is supposed to make federal bureaucracy so much better than family, churches, and nonprofits, before government used its power to self-pre-eminate.
