Some kid got in trouble for wearing a t-shirt with a gun on it, and now his family is suing the school system:

The family of a middle school student who was given detention for wearing a T-shirt bearing the image of a gun has filed a federal freedom of speech lawsuit against the school district.

Donald Miller III, 14, went to Penn Manor High School in December wearing a T-shirt he said was intended to honor his uncle, a U.S. Army soldier fighting in Iraq.

How times have changed. When I was in grade school, for about a year nearly every kid wore a t-shirt showing that guy above. Sometimes we even took our plastic models of “Ole Betsy” with us to school, plastic powder horns around our waists. Don’t laugh. If you weren’t a second-grader in 1954-55 you just don’t understand.
