Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson —- the subject of much controversy related to alleged profiling of illegal immigrants —-was reelected last night by a 10,000 vote margin over challenger Ron Parrish.

Johnson “hopes the win for a third term in office will remove the ‘dark cloud’ from the sheriff’s department and improve the morale of his deputies.”

Somehow I’m skeptical, although it will be interesting to see how DOJ’s investigation will play out now that the election has passed.
