Tough year looming for PTIA:
Airport leaders unveiled a proposed 2008-09 budget that projects total revenues off 4 percent from the current fiscal year, from $28.9 million to $27.6 million. The airport’s next fiscal year begins July 1.
A main reason for the expected decline in revenue is a projected decrease of 6.5 percent in passenger boardings at PTIA during the upcoming fiscal year. The number of boardings should drop from 1.14 million this fiscal year to 1.066 million during the next fiscal year because of the loss of discount carrier Skybus and anticipated cutbacks by other airlines, airport officials project.
