You can officially add Winston-Salem’s new taxpayer-funded stadium to the list of Triad-area downtown projects put on hold.
The Journal picks up on delays in stadium construction, and now the Dash —- though the team won’t come right out and say it —- is making contingency plans to return to Ernie Shore Field, which is now owned by Wake Forest University.
Team spokesman Kevin Mortensen the negotiations between Dash owner Billy Prim and business partner Flip Filipowski are “moving forward positively.” But note that commenters are skeptical, considering the fact the Filipowski is also Prim’s brother-in-law.
What a mess.
