The N&R (unposted) ran a comparison of ‘fan costs’ among five minor league ballparks in North Carolina —-Winston Salem’s BB&T Ball Park (Dash), Greensboro’s New Bridge Bank Park (Grasshoppers), Hickory’s L.P. Frans Stadium (Crawdads), Zebulon’s Five County Stadium (Mudcats) and Durham Bulls Athletic Park (Bulls).

Five County and DBAP are both publicly-funded, as is BB&T Stadium, but Winston-Salem officials claim their stadium is a better deal for taxpayers.

However —based on the N&R’s research —- it costs a family of four a good $18 more to attend a Dash game than a Mudcats game, which was the next most expensive outing.
