The Johns Hopkins University recently created the Best Evidence Encyclopedia, a user-friendly resource for those interested in data-driven school reform. After all, it is good to have actual evidence that a reform works (or can work) before you implement it. Not everyone agrees.

As expected, Direct Instruction is the top elementary school “comprehensive school reform model.” Top-performing schools like Franklin Academy Charter School and Charter Day School use Direct Instruction. Low-performing schools do not. I think you may have heard this finding before.
