Davidson County NC for Obama is crying foul over Bill Clinton’s visit to Davidson Community College, saying DCC denied them similar access.
But it’s not the same, says Teenie Sink Tilley, DCC’s director of external affairs:
“If the candidates come out, they would be welcome,” Tilley said. “If you’re organizing your campaign … no, but if it is part of your campaign … yes. A lot of people never had the opportunity to see a former president. We’re just providing the space.”
Tilley said the group wanted space for an Obama organizational meeting to campaign.
“We do not have any political organizational meetings,” she said. “Wednesday is not an organizational event. It’s not like Clinton’s campaign is coming to organize an event.”
