In a recent column, JLF’s Michael Moore argued,

Over the last few years in America, there has been a shift in the mindset of people to eliminate risk and personal responsibility, and we are seeing the effects of that today. The theory is, if you are an individual who has created wealth you have probably mistreated or abused someone to get that wealth. It is kind of scary that America has started to demonize the entrepreneur. Over the last few months, I have heard from a few entrepreneurs in church who are starting to ponder if they are truly moral because they have been entrepreneurs most of their lives.

In his prime-time news conference last night, Barack Obama appeared to agree,

At the same time, the rest of us can’t afford to demonize every investor or entrepreneur who seeks to make a profit. That drive is what has always fueled our prosperity, and it is what will ultimately get these banks lending and our economy moving once more.

On the other hand, North Carolina’s fringe Lefties say,

I’ll demonize these whizbang fools who created financial instruments they didn’t understand anytime I damn well please. Even Faber at CNBC gets that much. Please JLFers, defend these “entrepreneurs” as much as you like. You only marginalize yourself — with my gratitude.
