The Co-op has lined up a site for a new grocery store on N. Eugene St., between Smith and Fisher. At this meeting you’ll get to see the plans, ask questions, and give your comments on the project. Deep Roots Staff and Board members will be available to answer any questions you may have about ways you can support the project. Refreshments will be provided.
No secret Deep Roots has been a move to (what I assume is) the old North State Chevrolet property for some time. But last I heard they were relying on federal stimulus funds, which proved problematic for the downtown luxury hotel.
Update: Apparently the Biz Journal reported this back in September; Self Help and ‘New Market tax credits’ are financing the move.
