From the News & Observer:

A doe recently jumped through the window and crashed into the office of Sharnese Ransome, who lobbies for the state Department of Health and Human Services.

Ransome wasn’t there, but her office at the campus of Dorothea Dix hospital took a thrashing. Cleaning up the mess cost $121, said DHHS spokesman Mark Van Sciver.

“She was still finding deer hair on the desk afterward,” he said. “That’s not something that comes up very often.”

The doe’s fate is unknown. It jumped out of the office, broke through another window in a different building (repairs: $38.50), then escaped and disappeared into the woods.
