Jim Cooney, Joe Cheshire, Brad Bannon present. Wade Smith had to be in Virginia. Bill Cotter is also there.

Jim Cooney is first to speak. Says this presentation is “by way of background.” Whichard asked if their clients wanted to come before the panel. Evans was only one who had any “significant interaction” with police. Seligmann and Finnerty did not. Says Evans will say the police acted professionally with him. But that interaction is not the subject of his committee. So none of the clients felt it would be of any benefit to be there, plus it might be a distraction from the real focus: what happened during the course of the investigation, not what happened to the three players.

Says presentation is in two parts: First: What happened. Second: Several topic areas, 13 actually. Looking for explanations on these 13 topics. Says it’s up to the committee to decide if there are adequate explanations. Says they aren’t being paid. “We’re doing this as officers of the court.” Says they also didn’t get paid for the Bar hearings on Nifong’s ethics charges.
