The N&R discusses open heart surgery. I think a defibrillator is more in order:
Heart of the Triad is a tough sell. Against the uncertain backdrop of hot and cold relations, the hardest part may be building and sustaining buy-in from six governments. Only two elected officials attended the HOT steering committee meeting on Dec. 5, not one Forsyth or Guilford County commissioner.
High Point Mayor Becky Smothers isn’t overly impressed with HOT, either, though she thinks the area “should be developed for its highest use.”
Yeah, that’s the idea. But when we start seeing a few thousand jobs out there, then the business community will be fired up, as HOT chairman Robbie Perkins says.
