The Town of Forest Hills has decided to let the public weigh in on whether or not it should buy a golf course. It’s a tough decision. The town’s budget is $80,350, and the golf course’s owner is asking $1.2 million. Mainstreaming my opinions, I would say – since the purchase can indirectly create jobs, and computer programs exist to show economic multipliers can make anything profitable – the town should take it off the tax rolls.
