The latest air service cut from Delta Air Lines: three a day flights on 50-seat regional jets between Charlotte and New York City’s La Guardia airport end in September. Delta will continue to serve JFK airport from Charlotte; actually adding a second daily flight.
US Airways, Continental, American, and jetBlue all fly between Charlotte and NYC and/or Newark. It is a bit weird though that more airlines fly from charlotte to Kennedy (B6, US, DL) than to La Guardia (US, AA) or Newark (US, CO).
This will leave DL with 16 flights a day from CLT: 9 to Atlanta (mainly mainline, including 5 757), 5 to Cincinnati (all 50 seat RJs) and 2 to JFK. Expect reductions in service to Cincinnati (and Northwest’s Memphis hub) after the Delta/Northwest merger goes through.
