NJ congressman Rush Holt has to get the Bonehead of the Week award. After all the Democrats have had to live down after getting military ballots thrown out in Florida in 2000, they go and do this. Holt claims to be concerned about the security of the voting:
“After the Defense Department was stopped from
implementing a program like this two years ago because it was full of
security holes, I’m angry and astonished that they’re doing it again
without review, scrutiny, and oversight.”
My guess is he’s concerned that Republicans or right-leaning servicemen will exploit any security weaknesses. But if recent history is any indicator, it’s not the GOP or the right, but the Dems and the left who are most likely to engage in voter hanky panky.
