The editorial staff at Investor’s Business Daily notes an interesting disparity between 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her offspring.

While Chelsea Clinton is busy peddling her new children’s book about inspirational women, titled “She Persisted,” Democrats are trying to get her mother to stop persisting. The irony is apparently lost on them.

Earlier this week, The Hill ran a story titled “Dems want Hillary Clinton to leave spotlight.” It quoted party types saying things like “Good God, what is she doing?” and “Blaming everyone else is not a good political strategy.”

Clinton is taking hits from liberal commentators as well, who are now arguing that she “doesn’t seem to realize that the curtain has come down on her political career” and that she’s “driving a double-decker bus over her party.” Stop making excuses, they say. Stop talking about 2016.

Note that these calls didn’t come months ago when Clinton was claiming that the Russians stole the election, or blaming James Comey, or attacking the media for supposedly fixating on her email problems. …

… It wasn’t until Clinton started attacking her own party that calls for the hook started to come. During an interview at a conference in California, Clinton’s long list of excuses for why she lost expanded to include the Democratic National Committee, which, according to her, was worse than useless.

“I mean, it was bankrupt. It was on the verge of insolvency,” she said. “Its data was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong. I had to inject money into it.”

That, it seems, was over the line.
