Murdock asks why GWB couldn’t at the very least have insisted on something useful to pro-market types, such as a requirement that the contract provision requiring that Big Three employees must pay UAW dues be erased. It would be fascinating to see what would happen if the remaining Big Three UAW members would continue to be obedient, dues-paying members if they didn’t have to.
