I’m at home waiting for my cable guy and was flipping through the channels to figure out which ones have digital breakup. I stumbled on the Green Channel, which I never watch, and found a show on an environmental charter school in California.

The host was interviewing Sara Laimon, founder and director of something called Green Ambassadors, and apparently also a teacher at the environmental charter school. Asked what the Green Ambassadors was all about, Laimon said (emphasis added):

“It’s our goal to make sure Green Ambassadors is in every charter school and hopefully every school. … We train the kids in environmental solutions and for them to identify issues in their own communities that they can take action and they can dictate the future of this world.’

Their Web site describes their mission this way:

Green Ambassadors, a project of Environmental Charter High School, is an environmental education program that empowers youth to be agents of change in their communities and world. Through service learning, community partnerships, and cross-cultural and global exchange, the program fosters personal growth and leadership skills to help youth tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet.

The Web site is chock full of such global, lefty, one-world doublespeak. Is the future-dictating Green Ambassador program coming to a charter near you?
