• Conservatives for Guilford County endorsed Mark Walker in the GOP primary for the 6th Congressional District and Greg Brannon in the U.S. Senate primary.
• Democratic consultant Thomas Mills argues that as more candidates file in the Republican U.S. Senate primary race, the more difficult it will be for House Speaker Thom Tillis, R-Mecklenburg, to avoid a runoff.
• Democrat Houston Barnes claims to be the frontrunner in the race for the 2nd Congressional District nomination against Keith Crisco, citing the $62,000 in his campaign accounts. Crisco hasn’t reported any fundraising totals.
• Wake County prosecutors dropped charges this week against more than a dozen “Moral Monday” protesters, and hinted that just about all of the remaining cases will be dropped as well.
• Gwen Rocco, the former North Carolina communications director for President Obama’s Organizing for America, has been hired by American Bridge PAC, a left-liberal opposition research group.
