• A new ad from Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan includes some tough talk about military policy and her GOP opponent Thom Tillis.

• Tonight’s debate between Hagan, Tillis, and Libertarian candidate Sean Haugh will be broadcast live on WECT in Wilmington, but most residents of the state may have to rely on the Internet to see the debate. WECT is trying to get CNN to broadcast the debate and has made the feed available to NBC affiliates statewide, but in the Triangle, viewers of WNCN will instead see the station’s local newscast and “Judge Judy.” Carolina Journal’s Dan Way will be there, so look for a report from him later this evening.

• National Journal takes a look at the ethics complaint the state Republican Party filed against Hagan, along with complaints filed in other races by other organizations. More here and here.

• Human Events weighs in on the Hagan-Tillis U.S. Senate contest.

• 2nd Congressional District Democratic candidate Clay Aiken will be on the bus, wrapping up the campaign with a three-week tour of the district.

• Aiken isn’t the only entertainer involved in the 2nd Congressional District race. Country music star Jo Dee Messina will perform Friday at Dunn in a free concert supporting Aiken’s Republican opponent, incumbent Rep. Renee Ellmers.

• 7th Congressional District hopefuls Democrat Jonathan Barfield and Libertarian Wesley Casteen will appear Monday in a broadcast forum. Republican nominee David Rouzer has chosen not to participate.
