The N.C. Department of Public Instruction released the average daily membership (ADM) figures for the second month of the 2019-20 school year.  Compared to the second month of the 2018-19 school year, districts enrolled 1,972 fewer students this year.  On the other hand, charter schools added 7,244 students.

Wake County Schools added 1,436 students this year (an increase of 0.89 percent) after increasing by only 42 students the year before.

Pender County School had the largest percentage increase (4.5 percent), while Washington County Schools had the largest percentage decrease (9.2 percent).
