Despite the seemingly steady drumbeat of leftist thinking that comes from the UNC-Chapel Hill campus, there are a few rays of hope. One of them is the existence of not-a-few conservative student organizations. Such organizations provide a great service by not allowing the campus dialogue to lapse entirely into monotonous political correctness interrupted only by an occasional outrageous incident that pushes the envelope of acceptable behavior beyond a free and civil society’s reasonable limits.

One of the most venerable and important of those institutions, the Carolina Review, is pushing back by bringing Sherif Gergis to the campus on Tuesday night, October 29. Sherif is a Yale Law student and Princeton Ph.D. candidate who will talk on the importance of bringing intellectual diversity to campus. The event will be at 7:00 PM at the Campus Y. Definitely worth a look-see if you’re in the Chapel Hill area that night. More info here.
